MID Cheshire Against HS2, the action group fighting to stop the construction of HS2, held a very successful quiz night at Plumley Village Hall, raising more than £800 for its ‘Fighting Fund’.
This is the third quiz night the group has held, with all three having been held in communities the group says will be severely affected by the proposed high speed railway line.
The first one was held in Byley, the second in Lach Dennis and the fourth one is due to be held in Wincham early next year.
A group spokesman said: “HS2 is still a very real threat to home owners, businesses and farmers in Cheshire, and an announcement is due at the end of November that will detail the final route.
