CUDDINGTON residents are being urged to have their say on the upcoming Neighbourhood Plan at one of four planned roadshows this month.

Cuddington Parish Council launched a Neighbourhood Plan project in 2015.

Over the past 12 months the steering group has carried out a series of consultations with the community to seek their views on planning and land use policies for the parish.

This month, Cuddington Parish Council steering group has organised a series of ‘roadshows’ in and will be sending out a document to every home in November for consultation.

The steering group want residents to give their opinions on some draft policies, which will be developed to be part of the Neighbourhood Plan

John Kerrigan, chairman of the steering group, said: “We need the people of Cuddington to help us to develop the Neighbourhood Plan, by attending our roadshows to tell us their views, and by replying to the emerging draft policies document.

“Where Neighbourhood plans have been completed elsewhere they provide a very powerful support to parish and borough councils when planning decisions are being made.”

The roadshows will place at Methodist Church Hall, Weaverham Road, on Saturday, October 22, from 10am to 12pm; St John’s Church Hall, Sandiway, Sunday, October 23 after the family service; Delamere Park Clubhouse, on Tuesday, October 25, from 7pm to 9pm and Sandiway Library, on Thursday, October 27, from 2.30 to 4.30pm.

The document that will be posted to residents will describe a vision for Cuddington up to 2030.

It will outline key objectives and draft emerging policies which, when fully developed, will be used to influence future planning decisions.

Based on work carried out for a Village Plan, a Housing Needs Survey and a Village Character Assessment, policies are now being drafted to test with the community before formal consultation in the New Year.

Following this, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council will take the plan through full consultation and appoint an external examiner.

This will eventually lead to a referendum at which people will have the opportunity to vote to accept the Neighbourhood Plan.
