SAMARITAN volunteers and friends raised £386 by holding a weekend collection at High Legh Garden Centre.
The collection was held in aid of Mid-Cheshire Samaritans, which is based on Manchester Road, Northwich.
“We would like to thank the members of the public who gave so generously, and the collectors would also like to thank the garden centre staff for their assistance,” said a branch spokesman.
“The money raised will help with the day-to-day running costs of the centre of the branch, and is required to enable us to continue to offer confidential emotional support to people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
“The Samaritans are looking for volunteers to help with the phone lines as well as for the tin and bucket collections or bag packing in the area and at stores.”
