TALENTED amateur photographer Adam Holland has produced a series of stunning night-time shots of Northwich.

Adam, 27, from Leftwich, is Northwich born and bred, and his long exposure photography has produced memorable images of the town.

“I decided since Northwich was having such a major facelift with Barons Quay and the new memorial hall building I would go out late at night and capture shots which were different to the usual daytime snaps from around the town,” said Adam.

His image of Northwich Memorial Court at night was Visit Northwich’s winner of their Photo of the Month competition for August, and will feature on the 2017 Visit Northwich calendar.

Northwich BID officer Mark Henshaw said: “I’ve seen a great range of photos over the last few months as part of the competition, but this one really made me stand up and take notice as it’s unique.

“The fact it was taken at night adds to the mystery and atmosphere, and the building looks crystal clear.”

Adam added: “At the age of 18 I had dropped out of college and had no idea what my passion in life was – my biggest problem would be finding something I enjoyed doing for longer than a year.

“At the age of 20 I decided as I enjoyed taking photos of places I had travelled to I would buy my first DSLR camera.

“Night after night I would go out with the camera after watching YouTube tutorials to try new tricks and tips I had learned.

“I would soon stumble upon long exposure photography as I scrolled through image after image of these images which showed landscapes in a totally different perspective to how the naked eye saw them.

“I was amazed, and knew this was a style of photography I would love to pursue.

“It is my passion in life, and I hope one day I can make a living from the work I produce. We would all love to be able to put food on the table from doing what we love.”
