PICKMERE Photographic and Heritage Society displayed an impressive collection of competition photographs at the Pickmere Fun Day, and invited members of the public to submit entries.

Club chairman Roy Kirkpatrick said: “Congratulations to Jessica Bradburn and Josh Holt, who took first, second and third places in the junior section.

“Also to Ewan Campbell and Gill Bradburn, who were among the winners of the adult section, with Ewan taking first place and Gill second and third.

“We are so pleased to have members of the public contributing to this event and appreciated their images.”

The summer competition was judged by Alan Taylor, ex-Guardian photographer.

Chris Tarrant’s photograph of a mayfly took first place in the flora and fauna category, with club chairman Roy Kirkpatrick taking second place and Roger Warner third. Club secretary Ian Parr was highly commended.

The portrait category was won by Annie Makepeace. Ian Parr took second place, club president Joe Robinson took third and Roy Kirkpatrick was highly commended.

Ian Parr’s moonscape image won the landscape section - he was also awarded third prize. Annie Makepeace took second place and Joe Robinson was highly commended.

Chris Tarrant’s unusual image of a pile of rusty scissors was awarded first prize in the open category. Roy Kirkpatrick took second and third places and Chris Tarrant was also highly commended.
