A CROWTON pub's new look has been revealed after a £200,000 refurb.

The Hare & Hounds has re-opened with new publicans at the helm.

Having successfully run the Farmers Arms at nearby Kelsall for the last four years, Peter Wilkinson and his partner Gill Dale have teamed up once again with national pub company Punch to bring a new lease of life to the Hare & Hounds.

Peter, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the licensed trade around Cheshire and the Wirral, said: “I’ve lived and worked in this area for most of my life and so I’ve known the Hare & Hounds for many years.

“It’s a great traditional pub in a lovely location. Pubs like the Hare & Hounds are few and far between and I am really looking forward to welcoming back customers and showing them the range of improvements that have been made.”

Improvements include the pub being fully redecorated inside and out with six new jobs also created as part of the investment.

Plans are also in place to resurrect the village’s popular duck race.

The new-look pub was officially re-opened by local MP Graham Evans.
