DAN Community's next heritage tour is to Leicester, possibly the most talked about city of the past couple of years, made famous by Richard III and following last season's footballing exploits, Jamie Vardy.
The tour starts at the Battle of Bosworth Battlefield site where, on August 22, 1485, the Plantagenet reign ended and the Tudor dynasty began when Richard III lost his life and crown on the battlefield at the hands of Henry Tudor’s army.
It then moves into the city centre, visiting the King Richard III visitor centre in the former Alderman Newton’s School, located right next to the spot where the king’s remains were found.
Other Leicester attractions include the Jewry Wall Roman Museum, New Walk Museum and Art Gallery and Leicester Market, one of the largest covered markets in the country.
The coach trip to Leicester takes place on Saturday, August 13.
Coach leaves Northwich Memorial Court at 9am with pickups in Winsford, Davenham, Sandiway, Weaverham and Hartford.
