LITTLE Leigh Primary School’s choir made its debut at the Cheshire Show on Wednesday.

Jaki Beesley, the choir leader at the school, said: “The children sang their hearts out and were really well received by the audience. It was certainly a memorable experience.”

The choir has 40 children aged seven to 11, and performs at numerous events, including Little Leigh village fair, Young Voices, Weaverham Music Festival and Blakemere Craft Centre at Christmas.

The choir also performs at a local residential home, and it was the youngsters’ first performance at the Cheshire Show.

“It was absolutely exhilarating, and the children loved every minute of it,” said Jaki, a teacher at the school.

“They really responded to the rapturous applause they received from the audience.”

The choir applied to perform at the high profile show, and performed in a bandstand.

The choir is to perform at Little Leigh Primary School’s summer fair on Saturday, July 9.
