CHILDREN dressed in blue on Friday to celebrate the life of Rudheath teenager Lauren Lelonek.
The 16-year-old attended Rudheath Primary Academy, and pupils were invited to make a donation to dress in blue for the day.
“The school came together on Friday to celebrate the life of Lauren Lelonek who attended the school between 2009 and 2011,” said Rudheath Primary Academy principal Andrew Ross.
“The school decided to dress in blue to match Lauren’s Butterfly, which was designed following her death.
“Over the day the children remembered Lauren and her family whilst also celebrating her life.
“It was a way of saying ‘we remember you Lauren,’ we are all together in this and we want to think about the good things in everyone’s life.
“Parents, staff and pupils all donated to a collection. We raised £376, and all the money collected will be given to Lauren’s parents to help them remember Lauren in a way which they feel appropriate.”
