A MINUTE’S silence is to be held tomorrow, Saturday, before the start of a walk in memory of Rudheath teenager Lauren Lelonek.

The walk around Rudheath – Walking Together for Lauren - will begin and end at the gates of Rudheath Primary Academy, and will be just over four miles.

It will begin at 4pm, and walkers will have collection buckets for donations, which will go to Lauren’s family.

People who would like to take part are asked to arrive by about 3.50pm, and are asked to walk to The Venue car park or leave their car elsewhere.

The Co-op in Rudheath, Lidl in Northwich and Booths supermarket at Knutsford have donated a total of 300 bottles of water for the walkers.

Morrisons has donated high visibility jackets, and Sew Easy in Witton Street was thanked for providing material for the blue ribbons to be handed out to the walkers.

Residents have donated biscuits for children taking part, and up to 500 people are expected to take part in the walk.

The walkers will use pavements, the walk will have marshals, and police will help those taking part with crossing a number of roads.

The route of the walk will take in roads including Wright Avenue, Gadbrook Road, Belmont Road, East Avenue, West Avenue, Malpas Road and Middlewich Road.
