TEENAGER Smriti Sivakumar took part in a 10k Race for Life at Delamere Forest.

The 15-year-old from Kingsmead is bidding for success in the Miss Junior Teen competition after winning a place in the final.

Teenagers from across the country will be competing for the title of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 2016 at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in October.

Smriti is in year nine at Hartford High School, and took part in the Cancer Research UK fundraiser at Delamere Forest with her mum Lalita and friends.

She is also raising funds for UK charity Together for Short Lives, which supports children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.

Her online donation page is justgiving.com/Smriti-Sivakumar, and she has raised £90 towards her £500 target.

“I hope to raise as much as possible for Together For Short Lives in the next six months,” she said.

“It's an honour for me to be a part of this fantastic fundraising activity.”
