HIGH school student Jessica Leigh is celebrating her latest achievement after being chosen to work for an international charity.

The year 10 student at St Nicholas Catholic High School became a candidate for the local Youth Parliament elections in February.

The following month she was elected as the Deputy Member of the Youth Parliament for Cheshire.

“Following on from this success, she has been busy attending a residential, where she worked with young people from all over the region, looking at the issues which affect young people today,” said a school spokesman.

“Jessica has now been selected to work on the Youth Advisory Board of PLAN UK.

“PLAN UK is an international charity which transforms the lives of marginalised children, especially adolescent girls, through their programmes and work.

“As a school, we are incredibly proud of all of her achievements.” Jessica says that the experiences ‘have been amazing, and she has met many great, like-minded people’.”
