A LORRY is stuck in a grid in Winnington Lane in Northwich after it collapsed under the weight of the vehicle.
The lorry was turning the corner at the junction of Winnington Lane and Moss Road where roadworks are being carried out this morning when a grid collapsed underneath it.
The lorry is stuck in the road and is currently being recovered.
The road is closed from the junction of Winnington Avenue down to the bottom of Castle Hill and Moss Road is closed from the junction of Cromwell Road.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “A truck was driving round the corner when one of the grids collapsed.
“Obviously there will have to be some repair work on road and we don’t have a time for reopening the road yet.”
