A ONE-WOMAN play from Canada is crossing the pond for a performance in Northwich.

Confessions of a Redheaded Coffeeshop Girl, written and performed by Rebecca Perry, is being performed at the by Lion Salt Works on Saturday, May 28 at 7.30pm.

Meet Joanie Little - feisty redhead, recent anthropology graduate, ready to take on the world, but she’s stuck working as a barista.

Determined to use her vocational skills, Joanie turns her local cafe upside down, reporting on the ‘creatures’ (customers) as if she were Jane Goodall herself, bushwhacking through the jungle to study chimpanzees.

In her very own ‘Coffee Shop Jungle’, hilarity ensues, with jazzy tunes, co-worker showdowns, and maybe even a bit of romance.

Rebecca Perry said: “The show is meant to be an inspirational message, showing anything is possible in the ever-changing job market of today.

“I am delighted the show is growing so far beyond what I had originally imagined, and that it is now getting its professional début in the UK thanks to Spot On Lancashire and Cheshire Rural Touring Arts.

“Join me for jazzy tunes, co-worker showdowns, life lessons, and maybe even a little bit of romance, all in under an hour.”

The shows is part of Cheshire Rural Touring Arts’ (CRTA) spring season of touring, taking professional arts events to rural venues and libraries across the county.

Tickets for the show, which is suitable for ages 14 and above, are available by calling 01606 275040, and online at www.cheshireruraltouringarts.co.uk.
