A TEAM of financial advisors are celebrating their 40th anniversary of business in Northwich.

April marks the start of the 40th year of trading for CRS Consultants, in Dane Street, established by Clive Steggel in 1977.

Clive, a member of Northwich Rotary Club, first set up his business in a building he said was affectionately called 'the shack', which was opposite the Regal Cinema.

CRS Consultants then moved to 10 The Bull Ring before moving to its current home, Parrs Bank Buildings, in 1985.

The building itself has a fascinating history.

Clive said: "Considerable work was undertaken on these premises and in fact the whole building was lifted over 4ft using the old fashioned lifting methods which was the standard way in the 19th century.

"These jacks, pumps and manifolds were supplied by the Brine Board and are now on display at the Salt Museum in Northwich.

"Ours was the last building to be lifted in Northwich and many stories can be told of this event."

He added: "CRS Consultants is continuing to grow in more ways than one, and has recently completed an extension and refurbishment of 6 Dane Street, previously Lock-Tech, providing much larger office premises with more personal interviews rooms to see our clients.

"In addition our financial services department is continuing to develop and has recruited two new members of staff, both of which have an excellent background in financial services and bring with them a good knowledge of experience and expertise."

Lisa Davis has joined the team of more than 20 employees as a financial services consultant and Jenny Burrage has joined the team as a client manager.

Clive said: "I and all at CRS Consultants look forward to our 40th year of trading and hope this is the best year ever."
