POLICE have reassured the public that there have been no assaults on women in Whitegate Way in Cuddington after concerns were raised.
Northwich Running Club warned its members on Facebook not to run alone along Whitegate Way after one of their members was told by police that women were being attacked.
The Facebook post read: “A fellow runner shared this message this morning "Police stopped me last night when I was running to say there has been a man attacking women in Cuddington and Sandiway (quite violent) and said not to run alone.
“Please take care, there are a few running groups around, ourselves, Davenham Running Buddies too so you don't have to run alone.”
After the message spread on social media, Cheshire Police released a statement to reassure the public.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “We would like to reassure the public that while there have been reports of suspicious behaviour on the Whitegate Way, none of the reports involve people being assaulted in any way.
“Anyone who see suspicious behaviour should contact police on 101.”
Cheshire Police could not provide more information on the suspicious behaviour reports.
