LITTLE ones can explore a springtime woodland wonderland when a parent and toddler group with a difference returns to Northwich this month.

Nature Tots, for two to five year olds, starts at Marbury Country Park on Tuesday, April 19.

The Cheshire Wildlife Trust group aims to teach children about arts, crafts, wildlife and the great outdoors.

Robyn Moseley, people and wildlife officer for the trust, said: "Now that spring has sprung we can't wait to get back outside with the little ones and we've got all sorts of wild and eco-tastic activities lined up.

"One week might be taking part in a minibeast hunt to discover the amazing creatures that live around us, on another we could be searching for leaves, twigs and seeds of different colours and textures to make a natural collage.

"These activities are great fun for little ones, but they’re also designed to inspire independent learning and encourage team work, which often leads to increased social skills, as well as developing problem solving skills and creativity.

"They also enhance physical development, helping children to improve their stamina and movement skills.

"Marbury Country Park is the ideal safe and secure environment for the groups, and it’s absolutely teeming with wildlife which is at the heart of any Forest School."

There will be two Nature Tots sessions every Tuesday during term time – either 10am to 11am, or 11.30pm to 12.30pm.

Sessions cost £18 for six week blocks and booking is essential.
