TWO former Northwich mayors feature in this school photograph from 1957.

The picture was taken at Rudheath Secondary Modern School and includes Northwich town councillor Dee Cooke and former town councillor Lesley Cotterill.

Lesley was Northwich's mayor from 2005 to 2006 and Dee was mayoress from 2007 to 2008.

Dee said: "I went to Danebridge School first then Vicky Road then was at Rudheath from 1956 to 1960.

"As I know of there are two town mayors that went to Rudheath, that's myself and Lesley Cotterill, who was in my class – Mrs Fryer's class.

"We didn't really bother with each other at school and I only got to know her later.

"I showed her my photograph and she picked everyone out apart from me."

Dee and Brian are still town councillors and also spent 27 years collecting for charity at Northwich Carnival as the characters King and Queen Carnival.

Dee named all of the pupils in the photograph.

Pictured, top row from left, are Barbara Porter, Sonia Young, Dorothy Mountfield and Margaret Ikin.

The Middle row, from left, are Dee Cooke (nee Evans), Jessie Rogerson, Margaret Mather, Lesley Cotterill (nee Preen), Jean Harding, Margaret Eyers, Linda Macolour, Beryl Birtles and Josephine Lamb.

Dee was inspired to send in her school photograph after seeing a picture of Rudheath Primary School sent in by Pete Bell.
