A NEW squad has been formed to hit environmental issues hard in west Cheshire.
The High Impact Team (HIT) has been created by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) to deliver its Street Care Pledge.
The squad will address environmental concerns that sit outside the day-to-day work of existing services.
Cllr Mark Henesy, CWAC's cabinet member for environment and community, said: "The new team will be responsive to the needs of residents and will be directed to where there is a local need or issue.
"This will include where the same problem keeps arising, such as recurring fly tipping or graffiti.
"In cases like this HIT will address the problem and work with communities to develop a sustainable solution.
"HIT will also take action to address emerging problems which may occur as a result of a particular change in an area.
"This may include the redesign of a public space to design out anti-social behaviour and create a safe environment where people feel safe."
The team is supported by a new website, westcheshireyourstreets.co.uk, which aims to make reporting problems easier and provide information about the range of services CWAC provides in communities across the area.
