EMERGENCY services have been on standby in a Northwich road while police officers searched a house.
A number of police vehicles, fire engines and ambulances are parked in Carlton Road and Manora Road while the warrant is conducted in Carlton Road.
The search is part of an investigation which has seen 58-year-old Trevor Daniels, of Carlton Road, charged with two counts of threats to kill police officers and one count of resisting arrest.
He appeared at West Cheshire Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday, where he was remanded in custody and will appear at Chester Crown Court on March 1.
As a result of information collected during the investigation officers are conducting the search in Carlton Road.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "During the search officers will be wearing protective clothing when entering the property as a precautionary measure, and other agencies will also be present.
"There may also be a temporary road closure in place Carlton Road, which is purely for traffic management reasons.
"We would like to reassure local residents that this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to members of the public."
Blue tents have been put up at the front and side of the property.
Neighbouring residents have been sent a letter from Cheshire Police explaining what has been happening.
This letter states that officers have found an organic substance.
Following rumours circulating in Northwich, Cheshire Police has confirmed that officers have not discovered a body at the address.
