SHOPPERS at Waitrose in Northwich have supported the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.
The organisation is one of three which are to receive cash from the store through its Community Matters scheme.
Each month every Waitrose branch donates £1,000 to local good causes, which is divided between three organisations.
At the checkout each customer is given a green token they can place in one of three Community Matters boxes on the way out.
The £1,000 is divided according to the number of tokens each group receives.
October’s chosen charities were Cardiac Risk in the Young, Mid Cheshire Samaritans and the Children’s Society, which are to receive £424, £316 and £260 respectively.
The organisations being supported for November are the Macmillan cancer unit at Leighton Hospital and the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Scanner Appeal, St Luke’s Hospice and the British Polio Fellowship.
