PEOPLE who would like to create a wintry watercolour scene are invited to a free festive event at Rudheath Leisure Centre.

The Watercolour Christmas Card session is part of the local art project Art Seed, which has been staging art and photography sessions in Rudheath and Witton over the past six months.

The project is run by Working Title Artists Collective and funded by Rudheath and Witton Together.

“We’ve been really pleased to see our art and photography sessions in Northwich have sparked local people to form two new groups, Rudheath and Witton Art Group and Art Seed Photography group,” said project manager Beth Barlow.

“They are planning to meet once a month to enjoy traditional arts and photography.

“The groups are set up to organise art activities for themselves and others to come along and enjoy.

“The sessions are run by professional artists who help individuals trying new things or building up their skills.

“Alongside the hands-on art activity people make new friends, talk about things they’ve always wanted to try and have the chance to start planning new activities.”

The Watercolour Christmas Card session is at Rudheath Leisure Centre on Wednesday, December 2, from 7pm to 9pm.

If you live in Northwich you can book a place at www.ticketsource.co.uk/workingtitleartistscollective, ring Beth Barlow on 07828 148123 or email bethbarlow@bethbarlow.com.

Places are free but limited. The group keeps people up-to-date through its Facebook page, RAWartseed, or contact Beth to join the group’s email mailing list.

Sue Littler, the new chairperson of Rudheath and Witton, said: “I went to the first session, Introducing Watercolour, in March.

“I wanted some me time and do something I’d enjoy. After that I went to almost every art and photography session.

“It wasn’t stuffy or difficult, it was all just relaxing for me. As the term came to an end I didn’t want it to stop so, myself and seven other people met at the pub to form our new group.

“We want to carry on learning new things but also give others the chance to get some joy from doing a bit of art.”
