SHAUN Reid will head to Nottingham on a scouting mission next week to watch Warrington Town’s next FA Trophy opponents.

The Yellows have been drawn at home to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South outfit Basford United in the competition’s second qualifying round.

The visitors sit seventh in their division and face league rivals Carlton Town in the Doodson Sport Cup next Wednesday, when Reid expects to learn more about a side he has not faced before.

United will head to Cantilever Park on Saturday, November 14 for a 3pm kick off.

“I will be going to watch them a week a week today,” said the Yellows boss. “I don’t know a lot about them, but I will do.”

Town, currently sitting second in the NPL First Division North, beat Brighouse Town 2-0 on Saturday thanks to goals from James McCarten and Ciaran Kilheeney to set up the tie.

“It’s another home draw so I expect us to perform well,” added the former Rochdale, Bury and York City midfielder.

“It will be interesting because it’s a big competition and we are doing well.”
