A MUM from Castle is embarking on her mission to set up a registered charity for children with rare genetic conditions by hosting a fundraising ball.
Natasha Hamilton is in the process of creating a registered charity named Help for Harry and Friends to support children like her two-year-old son Harry Lee, who suffers from several rare conditions causing his windpipe to collapse, as well as causing floppy limbs and no speech.
“We’re aiming at helping children with rare genetic conditions like Harry’s and their families and especially their siblings,” Natasha said.
“We’re just registering as a charity now but it takes three months so by Chritmas we should be a registered charity.
“There are a lot of children with rare genetic conditions and it has a big impact on siblings and parents. It completely turns your world upside down.
“We want to be able to set up days out for the children and their siblings, which will give the parents a break.
“Hopefully we can help provide funding for more research to be done as well.”
Natasha is hosting a ball at Hartford Golf Club on Saturday, October 10, to raise money to get the charity up and running.
The event will feature a three-course meal, champagne on arrival, Michael Bublé and Robbie Williams tribute acts, a performance from band Artisan, a sweet cart, professional photographer, a magician and photo booth.
Tickets cost £35 and can be bought from the Iron Bridge pub or by calling Natasha on 07583448923.
