CHILDREN helped to unveil the new-look Co-operative food store in Moulton.

The store in Whitlow Lane re-opened on Friday following a £210,000 investment.

The new-look store has a focus on fresh, healthy food, meal ideas and essentials, and the major makeover has also seen new refrigeration to improve the range of chilled produce.

Children, young people and representatives from Moulton Pre-School and Moulton Adventure Group helped to unveil the revamped store.

The pre-school received a cheque for £250, and the Adventure Group was presented with a £100 cheque, to boost the groups’ funds and support their community activities.

The store also launched its Community Pioneer role, where a member of the food store team, Joe Palin, will work to foster involvement in community activities, from local fundraising activities to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs.

Store manager Chris Rose said: “We are thrilled to have made such a significant investment in Whitlow Lane, and delighted that we have a fantastic new-look store with which to serve the community.

“It is an exciting time for the whole team, and we are confident the store will be a real asset to the community, and as a community retailer and a co-operative it will play its part in local life too.”

There are offers and promotions in the store to mark its relaunch.
