DOCTORS in Northwich are offering a new service to make life easier for workers in the town.

Watling Street Medical Centre, situated on the banks of the River Dane, has launched a system allowing people that live out of the area to register with them and book an appointment.

This will allow people to attend a surgery at a more convenient time so they do not have to rush to appointments before or after work.

Mark Henshaw, officer with Northwich Business Improvement District (BID), said: "I think this is going to be a big hit with people that work in the town.

"They may normally have to take time off work to attend their own surgeries near to where they live or rush to attend after work - this will help put a stop to that.

"A lot of people who work in Northwich commute from surrounding villages too and for those who don’t have surgeries within a close proximity, this helps solve that problem.

"I commend Richard Lowe, the new Practice Manager at Watling Street Medical Practice, for implementing the scheme."

All patients need to do is pop into the surgery, say that they want to register as an out of area patient and provide the medical practice with ID and a proof of address.
