TWO TV favourites will tread the boards in Northwich as a debut play marks its first UK tour.

Diane Keen and Graham Cole star in 'You're Never Too Old', a bittersweet comedy that examines relationships, loneliness and humanity, which will be performed in Hartford on September 26 and 27.

Diane is best known for her roles as Fliss Hawthorne in 'The Cuckoo Waltz', Jenny Burden in 'The Ruth Rendell Mysteries' and Julia Parsons in the long-running BBC soap 'Doctors'.

Graham is famed for his role as PC Tony Stamp in the long-running drama 'The Bill'.

The pair play Tommy and Ada in 'You're Never Too Old', by Steve Wood, a play that won praise at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

When the couple meet on a park bench it is all too clear they are from very different backgrounds; but as they begin to confide secrets and recount memories, could this be the start of something special for such an unlikely pair?

The story that emerges is sad, funny and bittersweet.

Steve Wood’s script is subtle, full of telling detail and delightful turns of phrase that bring to mind Alan Bennett or Victoria Wood.

Danusia Iwaszko directs this charming two-hander for Anton Benson Productions Ltd.

'You're Never Too Old' will be performed at The Grange Theatre, in Bradburns Lane, in Hartford.

There will be performances at 8pm on September 26 and at both 3pm and 8pm on September 27.
