AS part of its UK tour quick-fire satirical sketch show From Here to Absurdity is coming to Lach Dennis Village Hall on Saturday, October 17.

Written and performed by Private Eye contributor Richard Kelly, the show comprises 90 minutes of original comedy sketches recalling the heyday of Peter Cook and Beyond the Fringe.

It has already performed at numerous venues across the country, has headlined at the Edinburgh Fringe and Chicago Sketch Festival and been staged at Over Peover, Rode Heath, Upton and Pott Shrigley.

Richard will be joined on stage by Ashley Hern, formerly of the Oxford University Revue, and Lucy Simons, a stand-up comedienne familiar to Merseyside and Mancunian audiences.

In the course of their set, the trio will skewer numerous features of everyday life, including “death, divorce, dysentery, dementia and devolution”.

“Those with a hatred of political correctness and senior managers are also likely to find something amusing,” said Richard.

“So if you fancy live comedy that’s a bit different to stand-up Lach Dennis is the place to be on October 17.”

The show starts at 7.45pm, with doors and bar open from 7pm, tickets are £7.50 (including ploughman’s lunch) and reservations may be made via 07803 151552.
