A TEAM of student nurses from Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has won a local NHS-run competition.

The team, based at Leighton Hospital, won ‘Best Student Poster’ for their entry into the MCHFT 10th annual exposition.

The expo gave staff the opportunity to promote some of the hard work they have carried out to improve patient care.

The students are all Student Quality Ambassadors (SQAs) – a north west regional scheme which encourages higher education institutions and service provider organisations to work in partnership.

The SQAs poster highlighted some of the improvements they have introduced including the ’15 Steps Challenge’ quality tool which has seen improvements made to the patient garden areas, clinic rooms and staff areas.

A spokesperson for the SQAs said: “The relationship that the SQAs at MCHFT have built with the Trust is profoundly supportive and encouraging.

“SQAs contribute towards the motivation to strive for greater quality in the care delivered to patients and the understanding that all members within an organisation such as Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust have the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare."
