A PACKED line up of attractions will entertain visitors to a Northwich park on Saturday.

Northwich Community Fun Day takes place at Vickersway Park with the aim of providing an affordable day out for all the family.

Organised by Northwich Town Council, the event includes tractor and trailer rides, donkey rides, a fun fair, craft tent, gingerbread decorating, stocks and sponges, fire breathers, stilt walkers, acrobats, animals from Stockley Farm fitness demonstrations at the outdoor gym and charity, craft and exhibition stands.

There will also be a barbecue, ice cream and stone baked pizzas on offer.

Lesley Moore, from the town council, said: "This is the third year for the fun day and each year we try to make it a little bit better than the year before.

"It's going to be a packed fun-filled day for all the family, all ages, with tons of fun going on all day long."

Admission to the event is free and park attractions like bowls and crazy golf will also be available free of charge.

"Most of the activities are free so it's excellent for big families, they don't have to spend a fortune," Lesley said.

"Where there is a cost we've tried to keep that to a minimum.

"Now all we need is some sunshine.

"The forecast so far is not too bad – it's a bit overcast but as long as it's dry we don't care."

A number of the activities take place in a large marquee in case of inclement weather.

The fun day takes place from 10am to 6pm and parking is available at Whalley Road playing fields.
