SUMMER holidays will be packed with fun activities for children in Northwich.

Weaver Hall Museum, in London Road, and the Lion Salt Works, in Ollershaw Lane, are hosting holiday workshops with a historic theme.

Activities at Weaver Hall Museum take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

On July 29 and 30 visitors can meet the Cheshire Archers during the 600th anniversary year of the English victory over the French at Agincourt, learn about their lives and make a clay knight or archer.

On August 5 and children can enjoy soggy fun and make a felt flower or butterfly.

Youngsters can make their own salt mine on August 12 and 13, while making a dinosaur with moving arms, legs or wings is the activity on August 19 and 20.

Finally, on August 26 and 27, children can create their own Lowry masterpiece using real matchsticks.

Activities at the Lion Salt Works take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

On July 28 and 29 children can discover Northwich and find out about its past and problems, A visit to the butterfly garden and a bug hunt are on the agenda for August 4 and 5.

On August 11 and 12 children can meet characters from the Salt Works' past then can make some salt on August 18 and 19.

The final activity is salt painting on August 25 and 26.
