WEAVER Vale Housing Trust scooped two gongs in the 2015 Housing Heroes Awards.

Unsung heroes working in the social housing world were recognised at an awards ceremony in Manchester hosted by TV Presenter and entrepreneur Nick Hewer and organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

WVHT were shortlisted for Inspirational Leader - director Chris Rowbottom - and Inspirational Resident/Tenant - Emma Naylor.

The Trust won Support and Care Team of the Year with its support and wellbeing team and Career Development of the Year was won by James Whalley, a technical support officer in the external improvements team.

Both James and members of the Support and Wellbeing team live in Winsford and Northwich and were delighted to win such a prestigious award.

Steve Jennings, chief executive said: “To be nominated in four categories in these national awards is a fantastic achievement and to win in two categories is just amazing, my thanks go to everyone involved at the Trust who contributed to making this happen, I’m delighted."
