HUNDREDS of people are expected to head to Northwich from across the UK this month for the scooter world's 'posh outing'.

Organisers are appealing for Cheshire residents to swell the ranks at the Mid Cheshire Charity Scooter Rally and Beer Festival, promising something for everyone at the family-friendly weekend event.

The 2015 festival, organised by the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal, takes place at Blakemere Craft Village, in Sandiway, from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12.

Rotarian Peter Chapman said: "People are coming from everywhere – we have people who've bought tickets from the Isle of Man to the Isle of Wight, it's incredible.

"It seems to have become a bit of an event in the scooter magazines and seems to have become known as a bit of a posh outing.

"We seem to do things a little more professionally than a lot of the scooter rallies in terms of we have extra showers and toilets and they're cleaned during the weekend.

"They're small things but it's what we feel is important."

More than 500 tickets have already been sold and the Rotary Club is expecting between 1,200 and 1,500 people to enjoy the rally during the weekend.

Attractions include live music, a late bar with a choice of cask and keg ales, ciders, wines and spirits, children's rides, custom and classic scooter show, parts fair, bouncy castle and a music tent.

This year features the new Michelin Challenge Cup Tug o' War and the return of the Roll-a-Dice tables to win a scooter.

Tickets will also be on sale for a raffle with the top prize of two VIP tickets for the British Motorcycle Championships at Oulton Park, worth £500.

Peter said: "We have the die hard scooterists coming but what we would really like is all the locals coming along.

"The music is fantastic, we have professional bands performing and the entertainment part of it all is for the family – and it's cheap.

"It's £13 for a weekend of entertainment, fabulous facilities at Blakemere, wonderful shows and toilets – what more could you want?"

Weekend tickets, including entry to the beer festival, are £13 in advance or £18 on the gate, subject to availability.

This also includes free camping for tents for the weekend.

Day tickets and afternoon passes are also available.
