A MAD Hatter's tea party will be created at a village fete on Saturday, June 27.

Comberbach Rose Fete takes place from 1.30pm when the procession leaves the post office and travels around the village, arriving at the school at 2pm.

This year's event has an 'Alice in Wonderland' theme in keeping with the 150th anniversary of the much-loved book's publication.

The fete will be officially opened by Helen and Chris Chrimes.

Mollie Ashford will be crowned rose queen and her retinue includes prince consort Jack Evans, attendants Mae Ashford, Lauren Chesworth, Caitlin Conway, Rebecca Foster, Imogen Hargraves, Isabel Matzen, Elise Taylor and Mia Wilkinson, and flower girls Violet Bigmore, Tirion Cooper, Abigail Fisher, Jessica Glover, Charlotte Glover, Evie Grensinger, Leah Hubbard, Holly Williams and Stephanie Williams.

Arena entertainment includes Bostock Band, Annie's Saints and Sinners and Dancing from Dance Academy.

There will be a variety of stalls, including the WI, Stockley Farm and Sam's Scales 'n' Tails.

Mollie has chosen the Newborn Appeal as her charity this year and the proceeds from the Charity Fun Run and Walk on May 17 will go to this charity.

Comberbach is also home to a scarecrow festival this year in the lead up to the fete.
