YOUNG and old are being invited to enjoy a game of table tennis in the great outdoors.

A table tennis table has been installed at the Linnards Lane playing field in Wincham by the parish council.

The green table is made from concrete, has rounded edges and is situated next to the teen shelter and basketball court on an asphalt base.

It has cost about £2,000, and was paid for with funding from Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The table has been provided by Concrete Sports, and came with a number of table tennis bats and balls.

The bats and balls are due to be available for loan from The Spar shop in Linnards Lane, Wincham, for a £2 deposit.

“Table tennis is a game for all ages, and we are encouraging everyone to use the new table,” said Wincham Parish Council clerk Naomi Morris.

“We have been given eight bats and balls, which people will be able to loan for a £2 deposit from the Spar shop within the next week or so.

“People are of course very welcome to use their own table tennis bats and balls.”

Concrete Sports also provides concrete chess, football and picnic tables among its range of products.
