SHOPPERS have struck the right note for Barnton Silver Band by supporting the community group.
The band is to receive £271 from Northwich’s Waitrose store through the company’s Community Matters scheme.
Shoppers are given green tokens at the checkout to drop into one of three boxes on their way out to support one of the charities chosen to receive support.
Three charities share £1,000 each month, and the amount each receives is related to the number of tokens it is given by shoppers.
The band was one of the charities being supported last month, with Northwich Rowing Club and 1st Castle Rainbows and Brownies to receive £339 and £390 respectively.
The groups being supported this month are the Amplify Youth Music Project, Northwich Literature Festival and Cheshire Search and Rescue Team.
