A FESTIVAL of classic vehicles, beer and music is gearing up for more mid Cheshire residents to visit this summer.

The third annual Mid Cheshire Charity Scooter Rally and Beer Festival takes place at Blakemere Village, in Sandiway, from July 10 to 12.

As well as a classic and custom scooter show and parts fair throughout the weekend there will also be a display of Minis, a funfair, live music, beer festival, stalls, food and the new Michelin Challenge Cup Tug 'o' War.

The event is being organised by the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal.

Tim Henshall, from the club, said: "We want to try to get more local people to come to the event.

"There will be lots of things to see – a lot of people will find it very interesting because of the nostalgia and there will be stalls, Minis, a small funfair for the children and the new tug 'o' war which will be a bit of fun.

"The beer festival will be open to everyone, not just scooter people.

"For those coming at the weekend it's just £2 admission for the afternoon until 5pm, that gives you access to the showground and beer festival.

"If people want to stay on and watch all the bands in the evening they can upgrade their ticket and stay.

"We want to try to keep it fresh as we're still growing.

"Some rallies in the UK have been going since the 1970s so the fact that we've only been going for three years means we're still proving ourselves and trying to attract more people.

"We want to try to make it so it becomes the jewel in the crown of the scooter calendar."

Advance weekend tickets, which include camping for tents all weekend and all day entry on the Friday and Saturday, are £13.

Weekend tickets on the gate will be £18.

Day tickets are £10, which includes one night of camping.

Secure parking tickets are also available.
