Ever wondered how well supported Saints are around the globe – or even in Southampton itself? Well, all has been revealed.

A new interactive map launched today by Twitter shows how popular each Premier League club is across the world.

It was created by looking at the official accounts of the 20 top-flight teams and using their followers as an indicator of support.

While Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal dominate in England, Saints have their own strongholds.

Unsurprisingly, their greatest pockets of support come in Hampshire, and in the area immediately around St Mary’s, with Southampton, Eastleigh and Winchester all being dominated by them.

They have a bit of work to do in some of the surrounding areas, though, such as the Isle of Wight, where they rank sixth.

In terms of their global reach, Saints are very much mid-table, but they have some decent international backing in certain places, being the seventh-best-supported club in Japan, while the same is true in the Netherlands.

Outside of England, it remains Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Chelsea who continue to dominate.
