A COMMITTEE could be set up to make sure a housing developer does the right thing for Moulton.

Moulton Parish Council is asking Bovis if a group of councillors and residents can meet regularly with the site manager for the 148-home development off Beehive Lane.

Phil Sanders, parish clerk, said: "The plans have gone through now.

"The inadequacy of the planning system is that only one side has the right to appeal – and it's not us.

"So we follow the development and follow it, watch like a hawk and make sure that what's agreed on the plans is what happens."

The plans were originally submitted by Richborough Estates and turned down by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) but Richborough won permission in October after a successful appeal against the refusal.

Bovis took on the land and the plans and submitted a further application for the details of appearance, landscaping, layout and scale, which was approved by CWAC in March.

Cllr Pauline Vernon said: "When Bovis do start on that land we should set up a committee and they meet with Bovis every week or every month.

"We make a point that we meet with them and keep on at them and they know we're watching them."

She added: "We can't go any further with the plans now.

"It's been all the way through planning and this is it.

"But this is what we did when Crosby built in the 1990s, we had meetings with them, told them what we didn't like and they altered them.

"Now planning permission has gone through we don't sit back and we will be active."
