FIFTY-four The Vale Golf Club ladies played a nine-hole Texas scramble in windy conditions.
Jacqui Cravos, June Hughes and Di Morris were the winners ahead of Lyn Robinson, Jill Millard and Sandra Cornwell and Pauline Laight, Val Perfect and Issy Green.
Thirty-eight ladies played a 16-hole stableford, which went to Laight, Audrey Sidwell and Jenny Braithwaite.
Robinson, Mary Yates and Jas Bishop were second with Kathy Cowell, Julie Newman and Cornwell third.
Seventy-seven The Vale Seniors turned out under clear skies for a four-ball individual stroke-play competition, which was the first of the year’s eclectic series.
John Jarvis won Division One with 74 nett followed by Jim Rushworth (76), Gerry Clayton (78) and Rob Sharp.
Division Two went to David Seager (71) in front of David Webb (72), Mick Lewis (73) and Nick Fielden (74).
Ed Reynolds (75) took the Division Three honours ahead of Jim Elliot (76), Tony Horner (76) and Keith Watson (77 net). Nearest the pin was Rushworth on the 14th hole.
The Vale seniors lost 5&3 at Redditch.
