Four-year-old Susan Lindsay has the pick of the crop. Her parents,

Robert and Christine, own Gilfoot Nursery, Crossford, in the Clyde

Valley. They are members of Scotland's Tomatoes, a marketing

organisation formed recently to boost sales. Despite tough competition

from overseas, home sales are up 15%. Mr Lindsay said: ''We are

encouraged by the increase. We are getting our message across that

Scottish tomatoes are better and fresher.''
