TWO men appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of Police
Sergeant Alan King and the attempted murder of Constables Simon Castrey
and John Jenkinson. Both were remanded in custody until Friday by
magistrates at Waltham Forest, London. Mr Nicholas Vernage, 26, and Mr
Peter Grenfell, 28, both unemployed, appeared in two separate hearings,
one after the other.
