TROUBLED disco and snooker hall group European Leisure appointed Clive
Bastin non-executive chairman yesterday.
Mr Bastin, 55, currently deputy chairman of both property group
Frogmore Estates and marketing company Clarke Hooper, replaces stand-in
chairman Geoffrey Nichols.
Mr Nichols took over 15 months ago after the resignation of Michael
Ward amid allegations of a share support operation carried out during
the takeover of Midsummer Leisure.
European, based in Barrow-upon-Soar, Leicestershire, also announced
the appointment of Patrick Hooper as finance director. He joins from
bookshops group Pentos, where he held the same post.
