October 24.

Ken Smith refers in his report to the wearing by a political speaker

of a Rotary International blazer (October 23).

I am not aware if the person in question is a member of a Rotary Club.

I would point out, however, that Rotary International is a strictly

non-political and non-sectarian organisation whose members are drawn

from a broad spectrum of society.

Among its aims are the provision of humanitarian services and the

promotion of goodwill and peace throughout the world.
