LABOUR'S European Affairs spokesman George Robertson, MP for Hamilton,
was defeated yesterday in the second ballot for a Shadow Cabinet
vacancy.
The party's Agriculture spokesman, Mr Ron Davies, MP for Caerphilly,
was elected to the place, when he secured 125 votes, against Mr
Robertson's 88.
The vacancy was caused by Mr Bryan Gould's resignation from the Shadow
Cabinet in September because of his clash with party policy over the
European Community.
