A SPECIALLY commissioned #5000 diamond brooch is to form the

centrepiece of a plan by Scottish jewellers to raise #200,000 for the

starving in Africa. The brooch, called Cornucopia and designed by Eric

Smith of Glasgow, is to be auctioned, but most of the money raised is

expected to come from a 9ct range of jewellery to be sold by jewellers

throughout Scotland. Organisers of the Scottish Jewellers Somalia Fund

say 100% of the retail price of the pieces (except VAT) will go directly

to fund Actionaid projects.
