November 20.

Further to the private correspondence which has passed between myself

and The Herald, I am pleased to be able to put the record straight

concerning the article on your sports page on November 5.

In the article Bill McMurtrie stated that during the Radio Scotland

programme on rugby Bill Hogg and Robin Charters of the SRU had their

microphones switched off for much of the time. Their microphones were

open throughout the programme and they had every opportunity to

contribute.
