(Motherwell) completing a good weekend for her by coming second while

Aileen Appleby (Meadowbank) finished third.

In the men's event, Howard Dyer (Kyle) took the honours, with Ian

Smith (Dingwall) finishing second. Chris Law (Edinburgh University) and

Brian Scott (Oxford University) came equal third.

The men's sabre was won by Meadowbank's Kevin Milne, with Ian Hulse

(Dingwall) coming second, while team-mate James McRae shared third spot

with Stephen Rennie (Heriot-Watt).

The foil prizes were taken by students Richard Smith (Stirling) and

Jennifer Houndsal (St Andrews).

KATRIONA Gentleman, the 24-year-old daughter of leading athletics

coach Bill, retained the North-West England epee title in Liverpool.
