I WAS intrigued by the multiplicity of signatories to the letter (October 22) on cancer charities. I can understand the anxiety created by recent cancer charity scams but surely a 16-strong Scottish Cancer Coalition is somewhat top-heavy in a country with a population of five million people. A united Scottish cancer body would streamline operative costs, lessen public confusion, and even generate more income which is the prime purpose of each of these well-intended organisations.
