WINCHAM children are to be offered fun challenges with the installation of exciting new play equipment.

Chester-based company Creative Play UK is to install a climbing frame and basket swing this month at the poorly-equipped play area in Chapel Street, Wincham.

The climbing frame consists of a log walk, rope bridge, tyre swing attached to the ground, pull-up bar, balance bar with an anti-slip surface and an anti-slip platform.

“This excellent climbing frame presents children with many different obstacles to cross, and will be guaranteed to provide them with great variety and challenging fun, encouraging children to develop their strength and agility,” said sales director David Esser.

“The basket swing will be made with round pine timber, part of our new product range.

“The basket swing offers a unique and exciting experience for children - while they play they will also learn about gravity and momentum.

“It is also perfect for children with disabilities or who need assistance - the size and design of the seat was intended to allow them to be accompanied while they play.”

The surfacing used will be rubber matting.

Creative Play UK has been installing play areas for more than 25 years, and works with many parish councils and rural communities.

“Naomi Morris, the clerk of Wincham Parish Council, contacted us in early March inquiring about our products and services following a meeting with local residents about the play area,” said David.

“We visited the site to meet with Naomi, and she told us the play area for this part of the village was under-used and needed to be revamped, with the intention of encouraging use from the families in that part of the village.

“Creative Play UK is delighted to have been selected as the company to work on this community project - it is great to get involved with communities like Wincham and be part of developing play areas that are extremely important to local residents.”

The installation of the equipment is due to start on April 27, and will take a week to complete.
